The Manchester Metropolitan University through its Information System Strategy Group (ISSG) has set up an Internet Committee to investigate issues arising from the growth in use of Internet facilities by staff and students. Recommendations are going to the ISSG about acceptable use policies, the legal aspects of usage and other important issues, with the aim of having clear policies and procedures in place by late 1995.

In the interim the Department of Library and Information Studies will make every effort to ensure its pages follow institutional guidelines for publications and conform with copyright legislation.

The Department will endeavour to ensure the accuracy and currency of information on its pages by a process of regular review and monitoring. In keeping with this spirit you are invited to submit comments about any aspect of these pages.
